European meetings of the French National Cancer Institute, 3 & 4 February 2022
As part of the French Presidency of the Council of the European Union (from 1 January to 30 June 2022), the European Meetings of the National Cancer Institute will be organised online on 3 and 4 February 2022.
One year after the launch of the Ten-Year Cancer Control Strategy in France and the European Beating Cancer Plan, and on the occasion of World Cancer Day, the aim of these Meetings will be to intensify cooperation and strengthen synergies in order to further “move Europe forward” in this fight, for the benefit of the populations of the 27 Member States.
The event will be attended by the Ministers of Health of France, Sweden and the Czech Republic, the Minister of Research of France and the President of the European Commission.
It will provide an opportunity for the main European institutional players and experts to share their views and make proposals on five major themes:
- Childhood cancers
- Cancers with poor prognosis
- Cancer prevention
- Maintaining and returning to work for employees affected by cancer and the right to be forgotten. In particular, Professor Yves Roquelaure, a researcher on the subject within the SIRIC ILIAD, will take part.
- International cooperation in the fight against cancer
These Meetings will also be an opportunity to provide a unique forum for all those working to reduce cancer in Europe.
