For its 2020 edition, the Higly cited researchers (HiCi) ranking, which aims to distinguish the most influential researchers in the world in 21 fields, lists 160 French researchers among more than 6,000 researchers worldwide. By disciplinary field, articles published between 2008 and 2019 are selected whose number of citations is among the 1% of the most cited articles worldwide. The authors with the highest number of articles among these 1% are retained in this list of Highly Cited Researchers.
Philippe MOREAU, Director of the SIRIC ILIAD, is a university professor and hospital practitioner (Nantes University Hospital, University of Nantes). He is a haematologist specialising in the management of multiple myeloma. He is President of the IFM (Intergroupe Francophone du Myélome) and has been listed in the HiCI rankings for the fourth consecutive year. Philippe Moreau has an internationally recognised expertise and has been distinguished for his clinical research work which has contributed to the development of new treatments for multiple myeloma patients.
Mario CAMPONE, deputy director of the SIRIC ILIAD, university professor and hospital practitioner (Institut de Cancérologie de l’Ouest ICO, University of Nantes), is a medical oncologist specialising in breast cancer. He is General Director of the ICO, Scientific Director of the Cancéropôle Grand Ouest and Vice-President of Unicancer. Prof. Campone is involved in more than 100 clinical trials as coordinator or principal investigator at international and national level. He is responsible for the EPICURE research programme.
